Are NBA basketball tickets too expensive for most people to afford?

I was looking into buying some tickets for a pre-season game and the least expensive option was $60 which I cannot afford. I am wondering if this seems expensive to most others too. Is NBA only available to the rich?|||I was shocked at how expensive tickets were to Bobcats games last year. I went to one game and sat in the lower level, in the section diagonal to the court and the ticket were $85 a piece, so I spent $170 for one game. The seats were great but I was expecting something more along the lines of $50 but you pay that much to be in the rafters. What is the most frustrating is when you go to a game, like the one I went to last year, and you see so many empty mid-court seats that sell for upwards of $150-$200 per ticket. It seems to me they would rather off you the chance to upgrade your $85 ticket at the door, for say, $25 more instead of letting the seats go unpurchased. Also, this would greatly increase the excitement and energy at the games.|||dont get me started on baseball games 8 dollar waters and the only reason NBA players get played so much is because there are only 12-15 players on a team NFL has 53 MLB has 25 players so you cant pay the players as much unlike nba were you can pay your good players alot and cheap players little

|||only jack nicolson can afford the lakers season tickets and playoff tickets for 10 years in a roll|||no i got to about 10 games a season and all the tickets are ten dollars they are not close to the court but at least you go to a nba game|||Depends where youre buying them. Knicks tickets are ridiculous, especially considering the team you pay to watch.|||the tickets are ridiculous!!! So EXPENSIVE... I totally agree with you. getting to the venue is pricey enough, plus the tickets and snacks will cost you an arm and a leg by the end of the game.|||If you buy your ticket on the day of the game; you'll be able to get a seat for $10 or less.

EVERY team is required by the NBA to hold and then sell 1000 tickets on the day of the game and to sell those tickets for no more than $10.

Some teams sell those game-day tickets for less than the required $10. Last season, you could buy a game day ticket for these prices:

Dallas Mavericks $2

Portland Trailblazers $3.96

Indiana Pacers $4

Minnesota T-Wolves $4.62

New Jersey Nets, Denver Nuggets, Atlanta Hawks, Utah Jazz, Memphis Grizzlies, Orlando Magic and Charlotte Hornets all chose to sell their tickets for $5.

So 1000 tickets for $10 or less is not too expensive for most people to afford.|||Because most NBA Players Demand More Money then NFL, NHL, NASCAR and MLB Players combined, You can say NBA Players are greediest Athletes in Professional Sports.|||I live near the Bobcats... the best regular season games cost like 20$, because the 'Cats are so bad... it depends what the team is.|||Last year, I was going to see a Warrior's game and my friend forgot his ticket. At that point in time we could not go back and get the ticket and return to the Arena in time to see the game. I suggested he buy a $10 ticket and since I know where our seats were that he just sit next to me.

$10 to see a game seems reasonable but the average price to a game can be very high and too expensive for many people.|||Tickets are expensive.|||If you go to stubhub, many people sell their tickets that decline in price the closer it get to game date. I bought 2 tix for Det vs Mia in the 2nd level 10 row for $17 each, so its not too bad. Lower level is a big ripoff. But I agree, we are getting totally ripped off, these guys are waaaay overpaid. Sometimes the best seat is in the living room.|||no way jose! i lived in portland oregon for most of my life, and at the rose garden you could pick up a ticket for 10$ to see the Blazers play ball. Granted, it may not be the most luxurious seat in the house, but it'll do if your strapped for cash. The deals are out there brother!
