What year was the 1st year you started following the NBA completely?
AND, how do you think the NBA is different now then when you first started watching?|||i started watching when the spurs begin dominating in 2002
I kinda stopped at 2008 since college started.
Spurs is still my fav. team|||2009
For a long time, I didn't really like basketball very much. Then, I was at my grandpa's house watching the 2009 NBA Finals between the Lakers and Magic, because he is a Magic fan and lives in Orlando. I enjoyed that series and then started watching every Bulls (since I'm from Chicago) game in the 2009-10 season (the year the Bulls went 41-41) and have been a huge NBA fan ever since.
Since I started watching recently, the NBA is the same as when I started watching.|||Almost the same as Go Bulls! I started watching the Bulls in 2005, but I didn't start following the NBA and the Bulls completely until 2007, the year they went 33-49. Since the Bulls weren't in the Playoffs, I rooted for the Celtics (before 2009 when I started disliking the Celtics) because they hadn't won in a long time.
BQ: It's really not too different. T-Mac wasn't injured at this time, and he was probably one of the best in the NBA. LeBron was younger, Kobe wasn't slowing down at that point. The Celtics were just rising after the additions of Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen. Kevin Durant was a rookie on the Sonics. Derrick Rose wasn't on the Bulls yet, and Shaq was still on the Heat.|||1984. Became a Spurs fan after watching Ice. My first "where were you when it happened" NBA moment as a fan was the Ralph Sampson buzzer beater in '86 vs. the Lakers.
One huge difference between the league then and today is the lack of real life pride and animosity between superstars. Bird hated Jordan, Jordan hated Isiah, Isiah hated Bird. Hakeem hated everybody. Now, with every player with potential attending those AAU camps, modern superstars have been best buddies since they were 12 years old. I'm not advocating outright, Bill Laimbeer-style thuggery, mind you, but I do miss the days when the game's best players didn't mind spilling a little blood to prove they were the best.|||2001. Witnessing Shaq's domination! I really like Kobe 8 back then. I was really small back then. Like 7.
But, I really started following the NBA completely was when the Warriors was rebuilding in 2005. We Believe in 06. They were really good that year. I wish the Warriors will make the playoffs again next season.|||Started watching in 1990 but really got into it big time in 1994.
The game has changed a few times since I started watching. When I first started watching offensives had more of a flow and was more active. Then game was more balanced overall. The the game became a defensive slug fest around 1995. Now it's a whistle and 3-point fest. Not much mid range or inbetween game at all.|||2007.
The first thing I saw was Joakim Noah shooting a free throw vs The Pacers. I was just flipping through the channels. It was the year the Bulls went 33-49 and got Rose the next year. I think the NBA is the same as it was in 2007.|||I started watching the NBA in 2008.
Kobe was still an awesome player, Wade had a fenomenal season that year. The discussion for the best player was between kobe, lebron and wade.|||I really followed my team a lot in the Playoffs in 2006 and started watching basketball a lot since then, but didn't start following it and understanding the game a lot until like 2009 or 2010
.|||started watching nba in 2000
Started following nba in 2007
The shorts are definately different.I started watching when they had their shorts pretty much to their calf.Now its half way above the knee.|||the first year i actually started following the nba was in the 2009-2010 season .|||03-'04 season. then I stopped for a while and started watching 2010|||2001 but I really didn't understand the game until 2004.|||1978, players have adapted their game to better defenses being played
