How does a player in the NBA earn a championship ring?

Uhh I just started watching basketball and I find it interesting, my friends tell me that a ring is an accomplishment to a players career. I'm mad confused on how someone earns a ring in the NBA, so how does a player earn one?|||The players of today aren't interested in earning them. The best players want to team up with each other so they don't have to work as hard. Because all of the talent in the NBA is on just a few teams, it doesn't even get interesting until the conference finals.|||the player gets a ring if he participates or is a member of a team that wins the NBA championship, they are usually given out at the first game of the next season.|||One must be part of the team who won the championship. Even the team manager gets a ring.|||you win the ring when your team wins the nba finals. the rinds shows how many times a basketball won in the nba finals|||You get a ring if your team wins the NBA Finals. Even suckish bench players have rings.
